SIX-SEVEN

In most use cases, when a person uses the slang term "six-seven," they're not meaning for it to mean anything. However, some have argued that it can mean "so-so," or "maybe this or maybe that." These meanings come into play especially when people pair the term with its infamous hand gesture, where both palms face up and move alternately up and down. This term is the ultimate example of brainrot. It aims to make as little sense as possible.

Definition

Six-seven is a viral, ambiguous slang term that is essentially nonsensical.

Origins

This slang term is thought to have originated from the Skrilla song "Doot Doot (6 7)". The song repeats "6 7" as a hook. TikToks paired the song with basketball visuals as far back as October 2024. Maverick Trevillian, now known as the "6 7 kid," popularized the phrase this year when a video of him yelling it at a youth basketball game went viral.

Evolution

  • 2024 - "Doot Doot (6 7)": Skrilla's song is recorded and later released in early 2025. It was later included as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of his album Zombie Love Kensington Paradise (2024).

  • 2025 - Meme Template: Users used the Skrilla song in TikTok videos with basketball players, referencing their heights.

  • Now: The "67 kid" made the brainrot slang term popular among Gen Alpha, allowing them to yell it nonsensically any time.

Usage Examples
